Stockyard raises the steaks with a win for its Stockyard Black Wagyu in diamond jubilee year

Stockyard Beef’s Stockyard Black Wagyu brand has been named the champion grain-fed beef exhibit at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show on Friday, following a year of major wins for its beef. Stockyard’s winning exhibit was described by the judges as a standout exhibit] well distributed marbling, nice eye-muscle size, great meat colour and exceptional tenderness. This win caps a year of major awards for Stockyard with it winning the grand championship medals at the Brisbane and Melbourne Shows’ 2017 branded beef awards. Stockyard won the Champion Australian Meat category at the Australian Food Awards, conducted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria with its Stockyard Wagyu Black. While earlier this year, Stockyard’s Wagyu Kiwami won Grand Champion Branded Beef of Show at the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show, from a record number of entrants. Stockyard Managing Director Lachie Hart said the awards were testament to the company’s long history of producing consistent, high-quality beef for Australian and international consumers. “This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Kerwee Group, which Stockyard is a part of, and every day, we are looking at what we can do better, to produce even more exceptional beef. It’s a passion for the entire Stockyard family,” Mr Hart said. “It is an absolute honour to be recognised with not just one, but now three major accolades this year. It confirms Stockyard’s place as Australia’s most awarded beef brand.” Mr Hart also paid tribute to his team, behind the scenes. “As a small, family business, we couldn’t achieve what we do, without our wonderful team. “These awards are a credit to everyone at Kerwee Feedlot and Stockyard, and at every level of our supply chain, and we thank them for their hard work and dedication.”
