GOLD for Stockyard Gold in Royal Queensland Awards

Stockyard Beef is delighted to share that Stockyard Gold – our premium Angus brand – won gold in the Branded Beef Open Class at the 2023 Royal Queensland Awards.  Results were announced on Friday 19 May at an event that showcased Australia’s finest producers across dairy, wine, beer, lamb, and beef.

Stockyard Gold was judged on five criteria including appearance (raw), tenderness, flavour, juiciness, and overall liking.  Our winning product scored 85.7 (from a possible 100), 5 points clear of the next best entry in the Open Class.  Stockyard has a long history with the Awards, with the win our 15th Gold, adding to 12 Silver and 4 Bronze medals since the establishment of the Awards in 2009.

This award now sees a hat-trick of Gold medals for Stockyard Gold over the last 12 months. The brand won Gold at the Perth Royal Food Awards and the Sydney Royal Fine Food Awards.

Stockyard breed, raise and feed premium grain-fed Wagyu and Angus cattle from their properties located at Jondaryan, on the famous Darling Downs and at Glen Innes, on the lush green pastures of the Northern Tablelands in New South Wales. Stockyard Gold is Stockyard’s Angus brand.  Cattle under this label are fed a natural grain ration for 200 days, a ration free from GMO-feedstuff and antibiotics.  This beef is renowned for its balanced flavour profile with notes of shortbread, vanilla, and the earthiness of mushroom.

Still 100% owned by the Hart family, Stockyard is dedicated to bringing people together over an outstanding piece of beef and has been doing it since 1958.
